The manufacture always recommend the following steps:
Check the tag: Always check the cap's tag for washing instructions.
Hand wash: Hand washing is the safest and most recommended method. You can control the water temperature and how hard you scrub.
Use cool water: Hot water can damage the cap, especially if it's made of fine wool.
Use non-bleach detergent: Avoid detergents with bleach or bleach alternatives, as they can stain the fabric.
Soak: Soak the hat in warm, soapy water for 10–15 minutes for moderate dirt, or up to overnight for heavy soiling.
Rinse thoroughly: Rinse the hat under cool water to remove any remaining detergent.
Air dry: Place the cap on a clean surface in a cool, dry area away from direct sunlight. You can put it on a hat form, small ball, or stuff it with a balled-up towel to help it keep its shape.
Avoid twisting: Gently squeeze the hat to remove excess water, but avoid twisting the brim or anything else that may bend it out of shape.
